The map numbers 9 points; Wikipedia lists 10 corners for the National circuit. Numbers 5 and 6 have no name on the map, and we have not guessed any. The numbers and names are those on the map, not an official count. The truck lap record only appears in the Wikipedia lap record table.
The British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) races on the 3.149 km National circuit; the trucks do not use the Grand Prix circuit with the Melbourne Loop. The summer date is part of the “Convoy in the Park” festival, with up to 1,000 show trucks, truck drifting and the Pickup Truck Racing Championship. In 2027 Donington is round 4 of 7 on 7 and 8 August.
According to Wikipedia, the European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) also raced here: in 1994, 1998, 1999, 2011 and 2012. In 2011 Markus Östreich won two races, and Antonio Albacete and Jochen Hahn one each. In the 2024 BTRC, Dave Jenkins won both races of the weekend, by margins of 0.052 and 0.101 seconds.
The circuit was laid out in 1931 in the grounds of Donington Hall, and in the 1930s the Silver Arrows of Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union raced here. In 1993 Formula 1 made its one and only visit for the European Grand Prix, famous for Ayrton Senna’s opening lap in the rain.
