We have not found a source with official corner numbers and names. The numbers on the map are our own count of the 10 distinct bends; Wikipedia lists 12 corners for the sprint circuit. The direction is based on one source and the arrows on the map. The 2027 date comes from our race calendar. There is a contradictory statement about the truck lap record: Eurotransport writes that Kiss was the only driver to go under 1:47.

Truck racing here

The “Pure Motorsport” round of the Truck Grand Prix Championship (TGP) takes place from 18 to 20 June 2027, alongside the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters), as in 2025 and 2026. In 2026 the TGP was a championship with three rounds for the first time, and the Lausitzring round was held on 20/21 June.

The European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) raced here on the sprint circuit in 2025 (23 to 25 May), and according to Wikipedia as early as 2001 and 2002. Norbert Kiss won races 1 and 3, and René Reinert won race 2 ahead of Mark Taylor and Sascha Lenz. Race 4 was cancelled because of rain and oil on the track after an accident. The 2027 truck layout has not yet been confirmed.

The idea of turning an opencast mining pit into a racetrack dates back to East German times (1986). The Lausitzring opened on 20 August 2000 in front of 110,000 spectators. The complex also includes a 3.256 km tri-oval, where the American CART series raced in 2001.
