A Welsh coastal circuit on an old airfield: short, fast and with the tight Hatchets Hairpin.

Numbers 1 to 8 come from the 2006 Wikimedia map; the name “Paddock” for corner 4 is our own assignment based on a driver’s guide. According to one source, there has been a variant at one of the left-handers since 2017; we have not checked whether the trucks use exactly this layout today. We have taken the 2027 date from the calendar planning.
The British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) uses the 2.343 km full circuit here. According to the drivers, it is tight and technical, with fast corners, and champion David Jenkins calls it a drivers’ favourite. At Hatchets Hairpin the trucks drop down to second gear, and that is where races are won and lost. In 2027 Pembrey is round 3 of 7 on 26 and 27 June. According to the BTRC, it was the only visit to Wales in 2026.
May 2025, Division 1: Ryan Smith won races 1 and 2, Adam Bint race 3 (his first win in the top class), Michael Oliver race 4 and Stuart Oliver race 5. In Division 2, Simon Cole took three wins.
The circuit was built on the former military airfield RAF Pembrey, and for a time the site was a chicken farm. In the late 1980s McLaren tested here with Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, and in 1998 BAR was the last Formula 1 team to visit.
